Vanessa Dominguez for Johnstown City Council
You deserve a representative that knows what's right for Colorado. As a third generation native, I will support your ideas and fight for the needs of our community. Projects supported by the Town Council should be those that are also supported by the community and not those of special interest groups.
Free coffee and conversation with the first woman of color to run for the Johnstown town city council. I hope to bring a new and unique perspective.
Some of the biggest issues I see facing Johnstown include taxation, managing growth, town communication and community safety.
As our town grows it is essential to keep that growth responsible and sustainable. This includes keeping taxation at a rate that does not drive out Johnstown residents and business and making sure that there are enough resources, such as a reliable water supply, to support expansion. I believe that projects supported by the Town Council should be those that are also supported by the community and not those of special interest groups. Since the expansion of our town, it feels as if Johnstown is two separate cities: Old Johnstown and the Northern portion along I-25 and Hwy 34. One of my goals would be to increase communication between all Johnstown residents so that Johnstown represents what is in the best interest for everyone living here. As a law enforcement family, community safety is one of my top priorities. I want to make sure we foster a great relationship between the Police and the community so each is able to communicate and fulfill their respective needs. Community partnerships between all community members and town departments are essential in keeping Johnstown safe and prosperous.
Feel free to reach out and share what issues are important to you.
